Eric Poulet – Director & Creative Producer

Born in Paris in 1971, Eric Poulet studied Communication and Advertising in the early 90s, while performing as a musician in a pop band. Deeply creative and passionate about cinema, he directed his first short film, Mélodie, which was awarded at the Berlin Biennale in 1994.

At the end of the 90s, Eric co-founded the directing duo LES SP6MEN (“The Specimen”) with his childhood friend Steven Ada. Together, they launched the renowned digital FX studio Specimen in 1999, known for its creative independence and technical innovation. Thanks to their in-house post-production resources and artistic freedom, the duo quickly rose to become one of the top five music video directors in France during the 2000s, collaborating with artists such as Hawksley Workman with Marion Cotillard, Zazie, Marc Lavoine, Raphaël, Johnny Hallyday, Florent Pagny, Calogero, and Superbus.

This success naturally led to high-profile work in TV commercials with leading French production house Les Télécréateurs / Insurrection, creating memorable campaigns for PMU, Volvic, Côte d'Or, BNP Paribas, Carte Noire, Orangina, and more.

In addition to directing and producing their own music videos and commercials, the SP6MEN duo also delivered iconic CGI and motion design work — notably the opening title sequence for the Miramax film Hostage (starring Bruce Willis, directed by Florent Emilio Siri, designed by Laurent Brett). They also directed the short thriller Rive Glauque – Scum, shot on 35mm.

In 2008, Eric chose to pursue a solo career and push the directing of feature film.
